About

Hi there, my name is Lauren Dyck, I am a follower of Christ, which I am able to claim by the Grace of God. I am husband to my beautiful wife, Amanda, and father to 4 boys: Aiden, Brendan, Emerson & Dallen.

I was recently asked the question “what did you do to be saved?” and I thought I would share my answer as a bit of a testimony:

First of all, to ask “what did you do” may insinuate a work on my part, so just to clarify, I did nothing as it is not of our own doing by which we receive salvation (Eph. 2:8-9), but by the Grace of God and His mercy He has made me alive in Christ Jesus (Eph. 2:5) through my faith in His gospel (Rom. 1:16-17), proclaiming the substitutionary atonement that Christ completed on the cross of Calvary whereby I may be justified by His grace as a free gift when I, in faith, repent and trust in the finished work of Christ Jesus, God the Son (Romans 3:21-26, 1 Cor. 15:1-4). By this work of God (Eph. 1:3-14), I have received the Holy Spirit of God as a Child of God (Romans 8:11) and give all praise and glory to Him who, in His great mercy, saw fit to save me for His name’s sake! And since He has made me a new creation (2 Cor. 5:17) and I have died with Christ and been raised with Him in newness of life (Col. 3:1-4, Romans 6:1-11) I have the peace of God, knowing that I will spend eternity with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in eternal paradise, to the glory of His name, AMEN!

I love to discuss scripture and firmly believe that in order to know the truth, we must abide in God’s Holy word (John 8:31-32) and use His word as the lens through which we view all things. This blog is a place for me to share, while focusing on scripture, some of my thoughts. I ask only that above any other written words on this site, that God’s word will be viewed as the ultimate authority, and hope this blog will be a blessing to whoever reads it.

If you happen to come across my page, I welcome you and may God bless you!

Lauren

I will be following you; It is exciting to read of someone who likes to discuss Scripture and to acknowledge that the Word of God is our final and ultimate authority.
